Nude Nails

If you're anything like me, you love the idea of perfectly manicured colourful nails, but washing up without rubber gloves, cooking, and general living makes this an impossibility. Well, I've discovered that nude nail polish lasts longer! (Or at least is not as noticeable when it chips).

Here's mine:

And the great thing about it is that I got the nail polish for $2 at a petrol station.

But, if you're not like me, and you can maintain a beautiful manicure, then here are some other options:

Food Trucks

When I lived in California, one of the things I loved were the food trucks. They are few and far between here in Australia, except for the old Mr Whippy vans:

We have some food trucks in Australia, but they all seem to be stationary. Like the old-faithful Harry's Cafe de Wheels, with its Tiger pie:

So, what are we missing out on here in Australia? Well, my favourite food truck from California - Kogi BBQ truck, serves a fusion of Korean and Mexican, like Spicy Chicken Tacos:

Out and About in Sydney

Yesterday was a gorgeous Sydney day. The Fella and I decided to make a day of it and spend the entire day together - just us. We do spend plenty of time together during the week where it's just us, however that's usually in the supermarket, or washing up, or sleeping. So it was nice to relax, talk and touch base.

We walked through the Royal Botanic Gardens, around Circular Quay and spent some time browsing the Rocks Markets. It was nice to rediscover the city that I've lived in forever.

 I saw and read about the lillipilli tree in the Gardens, and then tasted lillipilli jam at the markets. It was a lovely chain of serendipity that reminded me of Australia's beauty and uniqueness.

Craspedia

Lately I've been obsessed with Craspedia, otherwise known as Billy Buttons or Woollyheads. And lucky for me they've been sprouting up all over the blogosphere.

Aren't Craspedia lovely? They're just so sculptural, happy and bright! They look so great with succulents, and with contrasting colours, like purple. I'd love a little bunch of them on my coffee table. Here's where you can get your hands on some too (within Australia): Sydney, Perth and Melbourne.
